Why We Built This Site
Alabama offers several public access routes, but each route answers a different question. The sheriff manages county booking and warrant functions. The court clerks keep filed charges and dispositions. ALEA's Criminal Records Identification Unit maintains the fingerprint-based state history, while ADOC and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry cover custody and registration. We bring the verified contacts, official searches, stated fees, and request steps together by record type.

This is a privately run reference site with no tie to an Alabama court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Our role has clear limits:
- We do not retrieve official records or perform background checks
- We cannot submit a request, petition, or other filing for a visitor
- We issue no certified court record, rap sheet, or agency document
- We cannot interpret a charge or give advice about a specific case
- We cannot promise that an agency has not changed its fees, address, phone, or hours
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the sheriff, the court clerk, or ALEA. We only identify the proper route.
